PDO Thread Lifts in Oak Lawn

How long does a PDO Thread Lift last?

PDO (Polydioxanone) thread lifts are a non-surgical facelift done via the insertion of a dissolvable collagen thread that will stimulate the production of naturally occurring collagen in the skin. This minimal invasive lift will sculpt the shape of your face to help reduce any signs of aging. It is less invasive than a facelift and can take less time to perform, usually taking 45 minutes.

PDO thread lift is a great alternative to avoid plastic surgery. It can be used to treat any parts of your face that may be experiencing aging, such as cheeks, jaw, neck, and eyes. As a non-invasive treatment, it can lift loose and restore your skin.

When choosing a PDO thread lift, they are customized to your specific and unique skin type, texture, and aesthetic goals. Different threads are used to achieve different results depending on the type and amount of lift, skin tightening, and cellular rejuvenation.

Thread lifts are great for those with early signs of aging but not for those with severe signs of aging, excessive sagging, or loose skin. Patients that have some droopiness along the cheeks, brow, jowls, or neck but do not want the scars or recovery process of a surgical procedure are ideal candidates.

Preparing Before and After Your Thread Lift

Since the procedure is non-invasive, you won’t need to do much to prepare. You can take precautionary measures to gain the best results from the process.

Avoid the following 1-2 days before the treatment:

  • Alcohol
  • Omega fish oil supplements
  • Ginkgo
  • Vitamin E
  • High-intensity workouts
  • Saunas and steam rooms

The recovery from this procedure is minimal, and many are able to return to work the same day. Avoid sleeping on your side and intense exercise for 1 to 2 weeks. After the procedure, avoid drinking through a straw and pursing your lips.

For post-treatment, we recommend for you not undergo any dental procedures for two weeks after the thread lift. Holding your mouth open for an extensive period of time can affect the results of the thread lift treatment. Also, it is recommended to sleep on your back post-procedure for a few weeks. This can help ensure that there isn’t pressure applied to one side of your face.

How long does a PDO thread lift last?

PDO thread lifts can show immediate results of tightening skin that was once sagging. Younger people who get this procedure done tend to have results that last 3 to 4 years. Older people who have less elasticity tend to have results lasting 1 to 2 years.

When will I see results?

To see results from your PDO thread lift procedure depends on multiple things, including your age and how fast your body can produce collagen. It will also depend on how well you upkeep with after-care. Even though the recovery is minimal, you should avoid doing any activity that can make contact with your face. Your final results will be seen within one to two months from your treatment.
